The Culture
You will not only find reflections of culture and (contemporary) art in old buildings and other stone and wooden sights. Even on a smaller scale, you can find more in the Harz than you might expect.
The Giving of the imperial ring takes place every year in Goslar, a treasure much sought after by modern painters. This is accompanied by retrospective exhibitions during the summer months. The Harzer woodcarving art is on a completely different level. Most popular are the witches on a broomstick, dressed with or without patches of fabric.
Visitors to the Harz are happy to purchase such a wooden female person as a souvenir of a trip or holiday. The background of this souvenir phenomenon is remarkable. It is not so much the legends and legends surrounding witches (Walpurgis Night) that play a role here, but mainly the suspension of the witch trials, which nowhere lasted as long as in the Harz. Until well into the 18th century, this led to persecution and often the killing of offensive "red women".

Nature
The wonderful nature reserve "Der Harz" is located in the heart of Germany. A fascinating holiday destination offering a lot to nature lovers: from walks or bike rides, sights and views, climbing the steeper slopes to serious mountain biking. Motorcyclists will also get their money's worth with all the winding roads that the Harz has to offer. Besides a lot of natural beauty, there are, sometimes hidden, many historic towns that are more than worth a visit. Quedlinburg for example, but also Wernigerode, Goslar or Stolberg. For nature or culture lovers, a place to your “Harz´ content”!
